PRAYING GOD’S WORD OVER OUR FAMILY
Father God, we come before you in behalf of our family. We command that the enemy will have no authority over our family and we break every demonic assignment from them in Jesus Name. We pull down every stronghold from each of our family members in the name of Jesus Christ.
-
“For the weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood], but they are mighty before God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds,” 2 Corinthians 10:4 AMP Classic Edition.
We pray Colossians 3:16-17 AMP, that God’s Word will take root in our family members,” Let the [spoken] word of Christ have its home within you [dwelling in your heart and mind—permeating every aspect of your being] as you teach [spiritual things] and admonish and train one another with all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God. 17 Whatever you do [no matter what it is] in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus [and in dependence on Him], giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”
Father God, let this Word take root in the heart of each of our family members in the name of Jesus Christ.
We pray over our families, “Let the word [spoken by] Christ (the Messiah) have its home [in your hearts and minds] and dwell in you in [all its] richness, as you teach and admonish and train one another in all insight and intelligence and wisdom [in spiritual things, and as you sing] psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, making melody to God with [His] grace in your hearts” Colossians 3:16 AMP Classic Edition.
Family Prayers for children—born and unborn:
We pray that the children of this generation will honor their parents; the Word of God says, “Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee” Exodus 20:12.
Father God, regarding the unborn children, we pray that you will protect them in the womb and outside of the womb. We pray that you will spare their life that they might have a chance to live out their purpose in the earth. Dear Lord, give them the right to live and allow them to make the choice to fulfill their destiny and that their destiny will be to follow You in Jesus Name.
Lord God, we intercede for the unborn and the little children: Your Word says, “Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish” Matthew 18:14.
We pray the Handiwork of God over the unborn baby and the mother, according to God’s Word, “Just as you do not know the way and path of the wind or how the bones are formed in the womb of a pregnant woman, even so you do not know the activity of God who makes all things” Ecclesiastes 11:5 AMP.
We pray your Word over the life of the unborn, the born and all human-kind, “Your eyes saw my unformed substance, and in Your book all the days [of my life] were written before ever they took shape, when as yet there was none of them” Psalm 139:16 AMP Classic Edition.
Regarding the little children, we pray, “Beware that you do not despise or feel scornful toward or think little of one of these little ones, for I tell you that in heaven their angels always are in the presence of and look upon the face of My Father Who is in heaven” Matthew 18:10 AMP.
Father God, Your Word says, “Children are a heritage from the LORD, offspring a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court” Psalm 127:3-4 AMP.
Family prayers for the mothers:
We pray that mothers will have a healthy pregnancy in Jesus Name. “…blessed is the fruit of thy womb” Luke 1:42.
Dear God, we pray Proverbs 31:25-28 AMP over the mothers and women of God:
25 She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.
26 She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
27 She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.
28 Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her:”
We pray for her husband, “Her husband is known in the [city's] gates, when he sits among the elders of the land” Proverbs 31:23 AMP.
We pray for our family’s predestined purpose and God’s plan for us.
God’s Word says, “According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:” Ephesians 1:4.
Through our intercession, dear Lord, we speak this Word upon our family …
“For those whom He foreknew [of whom He was aware and loved beforehand], He also destined from the beginning [foreordaining them] to be molded into the image of His Son [and share inwardly His likeness], that He might become the firstborn among many brethren” Romans 8:29 (AMP Classic Edition).
Father God, Your Word reveals, “And now says the Lord, who formed Me from the womb to be His Servant…” Isaiah 49:5 (AMP)
Your Word also declares, “Listen to me, O isles and coastlands, and hearken, you peoples from afar. The Lord has called me from the womb; from the body of my mother He has named my name” Isaiah 49:1 AMP.
Praying Salvation upon the Family:
We pray Acts 16:31 for salvation in the family, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.”
Father God, we pray, “…but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” Joshua 24:15 (latter part of scripture).
We pray that all of family as a whole will “Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing” Psalm 100:2.
We intercede for our family, “Because if you acknowledge and confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and in your heart believe (adhere to, trust in, and rely on the truth) that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved” Romans 10:9 AMP.
Praying Strength over our Family:
We pray in behalf of our family, Joshua 1:9 AMP, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not be terrified or dismayed (intimidated), for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
We also pray over our family, “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might” Ephesians 6:10.
With the weapon of intercession, we acknowledge that "The Lord is my Strength and my Song, and He has become my Salvation; this is my God, and I will praise Him, my father’s God, and I will exalt Him” Exodus 15:2 AMP Classic Edition.
Praying Peace over our Family:
Father God, we pray Colossians 3:15 AMP for peace in the family, “Let the peace of Christ [the inner calm of one who walks daily with Him] be the controlling factor in your hearts [deciding and settling questions that arise]. To this peace indeed you were called as members in one body [of believers]. And be thankful [to God always].”
Praying Unity over our Family:
We pray, 1 Corinthians 1:10, for unity in the family, “Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.”
Father God, You said in psalm 133:1, “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!”
We intercede and declare unity in our families, “Do two walk together
unless they have agreed to do so? Amos 3:3 AMP
Regarding our family members, we pray, “For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up” Ecclesiastes 4:10.
Praying for righteous behavior in the family:
“Treat others the same way you want them to treat you” Luke 6:31 AMP.
Praying for husbands and wives:
We pray, “For the unbelieving husband is sanctified [that is, he receives the blessings granted] through his [Christian] wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified through her believing husband. Otherwise your children would be [ceremonially] unclean, but as it is they are holy” 1 Corinthians 7:14 AMP.
We pray in intercession, according to Matthew 19:5-6 AMP, “… the two shall become one flesh’? 6 So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, what God has joined together, let no one separate.”
We also pray, “Husbands, love your wives [seek the highest good for her and surround her with a caring, unselfish love], just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her,” Ephesians 5:25 AMP.
Praying for Protection over our families:
“Have You not put a hedge [of protection] around him and his house and all that he has, on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands [and conferred prosperity and happiness upon him], and his possessions have increased in the land” Job 1:10 AMP.
Father God, we pray that same type of hedge of protection around our families on every side in Jesus Name.
Dear Father God, we also pray Psalm 91, a prayer of protection over our family in the name of Jesus Christ.
We pray, “The Angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him [who revere and worship Him with awe] and each of them He delivers” Psalm 34:7 AMP.
