PRAYER OF INTERCESSION FOR THE CHURCH IN GENERAL
“And it is my prayer that your love may abound more and more, with knowledge and all discernment, 10 so that you may approve what is excellent, and so be pure and blameless for the day of Christ…” Philippians 1:9-10 ESV.
I am abounding in the love of God more and more.
Through God’s abounding love, I have knowledge and all discernment.
I am pure and blameless for the day of Christ.
We pray that God’s love is found in the church, because it causes us to be prepared at Christ’s coming.
We declare that the love of Christ will greatly manifest in the church so that all will know we are children of God.
If love is not in the church everything is in vain. Thus, we also pray that a supernatural outpouring of God’s love will fall upon the church in this age.
Lord God, You said, “By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another” John 13:35. As such, we pray that the church exemplifies love for one another, which reflects the discipleship of Christ.
For this reason, we pray that the love we display outside of the church will draw people into the church.
We make a divine declaration that our love will be an example of the true church of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
We also pray that the knowledge of Your Word will overtake the church, because we are not ignorant of Satan’s devices (2 Corinthians 2:11).
Correspondingly, dear Lord, we pray that the church will come fully into the knowledge of Your Word, because You said, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge …” Hosea 4:6.
We, therefore, proclaim that through the knowledge of Your Word, You will give us discerning so that we are not easily deceived by people.
- We know that people come in as wolves with sheep clothing (Matthew 7:15 NKJV).
Therefore, Father God, we ask You to open our eyes spiritually so that we might discern those that come to deceive.
We pray that no scheme of deception will prosper against the church in the name of Jesus Christ. As such, we pray, “But in that coming day, no weapon turned against you shall succeed, and you will have justice against every courtroom lie …” Isaiah 54:17 Living Bible (TLB).
Thus, we bind and cast away from us the mass deception of the adversary in the name of Jesus! Furthermore, we break his web of deception that comes to entangle us by weaving a spun of lies, conspiracies, falsities, etc.
We also pray against the demonic spirit that is behind people that … spend their time and energy spinning evil plans that end up in deadly actions … They cheat and shortchange everyone … Everything they do is filled with sin; violence is their trademark ... (Isaiah 59:5-6 TLB – The Living Bible).
When the adversary weaves falsities through his web of deception, we pray dear Lord that You will give us a deeper revelation and knowledge of Your Word to combat these attacks.
We know dear Lord that the person that spins webs of lies gets entangled in them himself, because we stand on Your Word!
Dear Lord, we pray that You will endow us with the wisdom of Your Word in the name of Jesus!

DR. ELSIE CLARK
- We pray that the Word of Christ dwells in the church richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in their hearts to the Lord (Colossians 3:16) NKJV.
We further declare and decree that our church is filled with the Word and saturated with intensified praise and worship. It is also filled with the works of righteousness!
Thus, we make a declaration that we are vessels of honor with good works for the glorification of Christ.
Father God You started a good work in us and Your Word tells us that You will continue it until the day of Christ (Philippians 1:6 NKJV).
Because of Your Word, dear Lord, we pray that believers will finish their assigned work upon the earth. In addition, we break and destroy every evil assignment that comes against the ministry works of Christ in the church.
Lord God, we pray that the church will be known as a place of peace and not of confusion. We declare and decree that Your peace will abide in our chapel.
Thus, we pray that the church will pursue the things which make peace and the things by which one may edify another (Romans 14:19 NKJV).
- In Jesus name, we pray that the church or believers will walk worthy of the calling with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love. As a part of this prayer, we pray that the church will endeavor to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace (Ephesians 4:1-3 NKJV).
I declare and decree that I shall walk worthy of my calling … I possess lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing one another in love … I endeavor to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace … I walk in a continuous flow of the love of Christ. My love does not cut off and on.
WE pray, “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near” (Hebrews 10:24-25 ESV).
_____________________________________________________________________
Lord, we know that in times of pandemics or epidemics, we must hear Your voice regarding meeting, assembling together or reassembling together.
However, we declare and decree that the true church of Christ is built on the solid foundation of God’s Word and His love and it shall not be moved!
We pray upon the church, Ephesians 3:16 … “May He grant you out of the riches of His glory, to be strengthened and spiritually energized with power through His Spirit in your inner self, [indwelling your innermost being and personality]…”
We declare and decree that the church has on the “armor of prayer!”
We are “praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—” (Ephesians 6:18 NKJV).
CONFESSIONS OF FAITH FOR THE CHURCH
“I know that my Redeemer lives…” Job 19:25
The church is redeemed by the shed blood of Jesus Christ.
The church is a prayer center for people at all times.
The church is a light where there is spiritual darkness.
The church is a place of peace where there is confusion.
The church is a wake-up call center where there is a spiritual slumber.
The church helps you when others reject you.
The church is a place of refuge when there is danger.
The church is clothed with the whole armor of God and with righteousness.
The church exemplifies Christ and is endowed with His glory and anointing.
The church is heaven bound at the coming of Jesus Christ.
PRAYING FOR THE ALERTNESS OF THE CHURCH IN THESE LAST DAYS:
We pray that the church will be sober and vigilant, because our adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8 NKJV).
We speak spiritual alertness and “an awakening” so that the church will not be deceived by the crafty tricks of the adversary. Therefore, we take full authority over him and proclaim our victory in the name of Jesus!
We pray that the church will awaken from its slumber to be prepared for the Bridegroom, Jesus Christ (Matthew 25:5 NKJV).
We pray also that the church will awake to righteousness and do not sin, according to (1 Corinthians 15:34 NKJV).
- In the ministry gift of evangelism, we pray … be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry (2 Timothy 4:5 NKJV).
Thus, we bind and cast away the spiritual slumber and non-alertness in the church and speak forth the spirit of praise and worship in Jesus name.
We pray upon the church, “Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee” Isaiah 60:1
We declare and decree that the “Light of Christ’s glory” has risen upon the church with a new awakening, a refreshing and a time of peace!
We proclaim that where there is darkness across the land, the church will be radiated with Christ’s glory and shine throughout the earth.
We pray for a great refreshing and for the Light of Christ to reflect upon us where there was darkness. We declare and decree that His Light shall bring forth a divine awakening or alertness in the name of Jesus!
We pray that we shall walk as reflectors of Christ Light in the earth in Jesus name! As such, we declare and decree that we are beacons of light that shine around the world, because of prayer and the truth of God’s Word.
We pray that the church will operate in miracles and healings, whereby, many shall be healed in the name of Jesus!
We pray that the church will be known as having supernatural faith in the midst of turmoil and trying times in Jesus name!
Through this, we pray that “Global Prayer Warriors” will be raised up from nation to nation and prayers of faith shall bring forth “Revival Fire!”
We decree and declare that we walk by faith and not by sight ... (2 Corinthians 5:7).
We pray God’s Word upon us as the church, “So be alert [give strict attention, be cautious and active in faith], for you do not know which day [whether near or far] your Lord is coming” Matthew 24:42 AMP.
We declare and decree this Word …“[stay alert,] in case he should come suddenly and unexpectedly and find you asleep and unprepared” Mark 13:36 AMP.
We proclaim this Word within our hearts in Jesus name…
Psalm 119:105 AMPC --- Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
The unfolding of Your [glorious] words give light; Their unfolding gives understanding to the simple (childlike)” Psalm 119:130 AMP
Focusing on Your Prayer Life
COLOSSIANS 4:2 AMP ...
“Be persistent and devoted to prayer, being alert and focused in your prayer life with an attitude of thanksgiving.”
“The eye is the lamp of your body. When your eye is clear [spiritually perceptive, focused on God], your whole body also is full of light [benefiting from God’s precepts]” Luke 11:34 AMP
I declare and decree that I am persistent in prayer.
I declare and decree that I am devoted to prayer.
I declare and decree that I am alert in my prayer life.
I declare and decree that I am focused in my prayer life.
I have all of this with an attitude of thanksgiving in Jesus name!
I am spiritually perceptive—focused on God and my whole body is full of the Light of Christ.
I am focused on God’s Word and it enlightens and radiates my spirit.
“Your ears will hear a word behind you, “This is the way, walk in it,” whenever you turn to the right or to the left” (Isaiah 30:21 AMP).
I declare and decree that I will be alert and focus and walk in the way of God’s Word.
I also declare and decree … “Therefore, my beloved brothers and sisters, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord [always doing your best and doing more than is needed], being continually aware that your labor [even to the point of exhaustion] in the Lord is not futile nor wasted [it is never without purpose]” 1 Corinthians 15:58 AMP.
Dear Lord, we pray Your Word, “So then let us not sleep [in spiritual indifference] as the rest [of the world does], but let us keep wide awake [alert and cautious] and let us be sober [self-controlled, calm, and wise]” - 1 Thessalonians 5:6 AMP.
Therefore, we declare and decree that we shall be spiritually awake, alert and prepared for the coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
PRAYING FOR THE CONGREGATION:
We pray that the congregation will continually operate in the high praises of God! In the same manner, they will worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness in Jesus name.
Father God, Your Word says, “Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand;” Psalm 149:6.
Therefore, we pray for the “sword of praise” to break forth upon the congregation in the name of Jesus Christ!
The sword of praise will destroy and shatter the enemy forces and as a result the congregation shall walk in the victory of Christ!
We pray for the whole congregation to embody praise and worship in order to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ.
We also pray that the whole congregation shall be like unto the choir of heaven with divine harmony. They shall be as one voice!
The whole congregation shall become the praise choir even when there is a choir. We declare and decree that the church shall be known for praise and worship.
In addition, for the congregation, we pray, “Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you” Hebrews 13:17 NKJV.
We pray God’s Word, “But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers” 1 Peter 4:7 NKJV.
Dear Lord, we pray that the church will watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave and strong in Jesus name (1 Corinthians 16:13 NKJV).
THE PROPHETIC PRAYER WATCH OF CHRIST’S COMING
- Lord Christ, we pray that the dead churches will awaken and arise in Jesus name and repent! You told the church of Sardis that “… I know your deeds; you have a reputation of being alive, but you are dead” (Revelation 3:1 NIV).
Dear Lord, You prophetically gave an alert warning to the church, “Wake up! Strengthen what remains and is about to die, for I have found your deeds unfinished in the sight of my God” Revelation 3:2 NIV.
Dear Lord, when You look at our works or deeds quicken us to finish our purpose in Your sight upon this earth to Your pleasing. We ask You Lord to give us an anointing to complete all unfinished work in Your name.
WE PRAY in Jesus name that the Spirit of Life will fall upon the dead churches and revive them for the glorification of Christ!
WE declare and decree that revival will break out in the midst of the churches bringing forth great restoration!
Correspondingly, we pray that the quickening power of the Holy Spirit and the fire of God will fall upon them, likened unto the day of Pentecost!
Dear Lord Christ, we pray that the church—the body of Christ will hold fast and repent, because You gave a prophetic warning, “Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; hold it fast, and repent. But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you” (Revelation 3:3 NIV).
WE PRAY THAT ALL CHURCHES AND/OR CONGREGATIONS WILL HEED TO THE WAKEUP CALL IN THE EARTH OR THROUGHOUT NATIONS!
You told the church of Sardis, “The one who is victorious will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out the name of that person from the book of life, but will acknowledge that name before my Father and his angels” (Revelation 3:5 NIV).
We make “A DECLARATION OF REPENTANCE” that we are victorious and shall be clothed in white garments and our names shall be found in the Book of Life.
You revealed that if the church or believers repented, You would acknowledge their name before My Father and His angels.
In Revelation 3:5 AMP translation, it states, “He who overcomes [the world through believing that Jesus is the Son of God] will accordingly be dressed in white clothing …”
Therefore, Father God, we decree and declare that we are overcomers or victorious through our repentance.
We have “overcoming faith,” which is being victorious in Christ!
Lord Christ, we have overcome, because You have overcome the world in accordance to John 16:33.
For that reason, Lord Jesus, we pray that those who are here at Your coming will be prepared in righteousness through repentance in Your name.
WE pray that we will be like the five wise virgins that had oil burning in their lamps at Your return and not like the five unwise virgins that had none (Matthew 25:1-13).
Lord Christ, when You return as the Bridegroom, we pray that You will receive us as Your bride.
As the bride of Christ, we have chosen to live holy and upright all the days of our lives.
For that reason, Father God, we pray that we will keep a repentant spirit and that You will quicken us to repent with a righteous conviction!
We make a declaration to walk in Your righteousness and holiness by following after You, according to Your Word.
We pray for discerning so that we will not be deceived and fall into the entrapments of the adversary.
We pray in accordance to Matthew 7:13-14 AMP that our footsteps are ordered by You and that we will walk through the narrow gate that leads the way to everlasting life!
Another Special Prayer for the Called and Chosen
To those who are the called (God’s chosen ones, the elect), dearly loved by God the Father, and kept [secure and set apart] for Jesus Christ: 2 May mercy and peace and love be multiplied to you [filling your heart with the spiritual well-being and serenity experienced by those who walk closely with God] Jude 1:1-2 AMP. AMEN
A Bible Scripture Prayer for Growth in Christian Virtue for the Congregation:
WE PRAY … To those who have received and possess [by God’s will] a precious faith of the same kind as ours, by the righteousness of our God and Savior, Jesus Christ:
2 Grace and peace [that special sense of spiritual well-being] be multiplied to you in the [true, intimate] knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord.
3 For His divine power has bestowed on us [absolutely] everything necessary for [a dynamic spiritual] life and godliness, through true and personal knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.
4 For by these He has bestowed on us His precious and magnificent promises [of inexpressible value], so that by them you may escape from the immoral freedom that is in the world because of disreputable desire, and become sharers of the divine nature.
5 For this very reason, applying your diligence [to the divine promises, make every effort] in [exercising] your faith to, develop moral excellence, and in more excellence, knowledge (insight, understanding), 6 and in your knowledge, self-control, and in your self-control, steadfastness, and in your steadfastness, godliness, 7 and in your godliness, brother affection, and in your brotherly affection, [develop Christian] love [that is, learn to unselfishly seek the best for others and to do things for their benefit].
8 For as these qualities are yours and are increasing [in you as you grow toward spiritual maturity], they will keep you from being useless and unproductive in regard to the true knowledge and greater understanding of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 For whoever lacks these qualities is blind—shortsighted [closing his spiritual eyes to the truth], having become oblivious to the fact that he was cleansed from his old sins.
10 Therefore, believers, be all the more diligent to make certain about His calling and choosing you [be sure that your behavior reflects and confirms your relationship with God]; for by doing these things [actively developing these virtues], you will never stumble [in your spiritual growth and will live a life that leads others away from sin]; 11 for in this way entry into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will be abundantly provided to you. AMEN!
